Centre’s health and education initiatives for tribals run into hurdles in states

Of 1,530 proposals, while 205 were rejected on various grounds, 1,325 were found deserving. Of these 1,288 are still pending at the state level and not sent across so that grants can be released. The most number of pending proposals are in Maharashtra (380), followed by Jharkhand (174), Madhya Pradesh (152), Gujarat (76) and Rajasthan (76).
