SC surprised NCLAT reinstated Cyrus Mistry at Tata Sons on its own

Senior advocate CA Sundaram, arguing for the Mistry-led Shapoorji Pallonji Group, claimed the NCLAT seemed to have followed labour law principles in reinstating Mistry. Once the tribunal found that Mistry’s removal was illegal and done under pressure of the majority shareholder, it ordered his reinstatement, he contended.
