The decision to convene the meeting on Thursday was taken after National Conference leaders Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah met People’s Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti at her Gupkar residence on Wednesday afternoon for 25 minutes. Mufti was released after over 14 months’ detention on Tuesday night. An audio she posted on social media after release said August 5, 2019, when the special status of J&K was removed, was a black day.
